Black Dogs

Sadly, black animals are euthanized more than any other type of adoptable animal in shelters.  Why?  Simply because they are black.  In addition, at the top of the Black Dog list, those who are euthanized more than any others are large and extra large black dogs.  Born to die because of their color and because someone didn't care enough.

Which animals are in rescue the longest?  Black ones.  What animals are overlooked and ignored the most?  Black animals. Why? Because they aren't fancy, they are basic and normal, and because people don't look into the true heart and soul of the animal.  Just because they are simply colored and not flashy, not a particular breed, or because they are too large, they are ignored...even Black Labradors, at one time the "best" dog. 

Ask any shelter and they will tell you black animals are at the top of the euthanasia list.  Ask any rescue and they will say they are the ones that are kept around the longest.  For whatever reason they are considered plain and unattractive.

These beautiful babies could make amazing pets, but the lack of desire for them results in euthanasia.  Help these darling souls find forever homes that will love them by considering them as your devoted family member.
